Working on a team can be a piece of cake or feel like The Clash of Titans. Personalities may battle, egos can get hurt and voices might not be heard but at the end of the day everyone has to come together to make it work.

Janette Terrazas is a Show Production student at Full Sail University. When she heard about Michelle Sabolchick Pettinato being inducted into the Hall of Fame she was more than thrilled to meet with Michelle, since she had admired her work from early on.

The modern music industry is not what it used to be. This is not a secret for anyone who has been involved in this industry at all, either as a professional, or a consumer. Singer-songwriter Stephanie Berlanga is the youngest panelist on “Making a Connection: New Media and Content Distribution,” but even she agrees that within just ten years of her music career, things have shifted.

Originally from Puerto Rico, Ivan became a Full Sail University student in October 2013, and never suspected that after graduating he would become a YouTuber and part of the university's staff.

Full Sail University grads and Hall of Fame inductees Kim Alpert, Laurie Brugger, and Michelle Sabolchick Pettinato conducted the panel “This is not a panel about women in the entertainment industry,” moderated by Robin Koman. The panel focused on their career trajectories, questions from the audience, wage gap, dealing with anxiety, and being assertive.

We are Full Sail Students. For the most part, we are all passionate storytellers. How we tell our stories may differ; some of us tell our stories through film, other’s music, and some through any medium available to us.

But is it powerful storytelling?

Last year, the United Nations Climate Change Project hosted by the French Embassy asked Full Sail University students and graduates to submit pieces in the categories of art, music, film, and marketing to raise awareness and educate audiences about the issue of climate change.

The winners Dimitri Pantchev, from Bulgaria, Dionne Ramdeen, from Jamaica and Justice Soule from Alaska, were given the opportunity to travel to Paris to create video assets for several ecological technology companies.

Michelle Sabolchick Pettinato found her love for recording engineering in high school and pursued her dream through Full Sail University. Michelle decided that her love for live sound would also feed her hunger to travel around the world.

Jeff Unay has come a long way since graduating from Full Sail in 2002.

Unay graduated with Advertising and Graphic Design Bachelor’s degree in 2000, but says his discovery of Full Sail was life changing.

Ashish Manchanda, 2016 Full Sail Hall Of Fame inductee, is a noted mixing and recording engineer. A music producer based in Mumbai, India, he is recognized for his work with Bollywood.

Not everyone who graduates has a job lined up immediately after walking across that stage. Some students have to wait a little longer to find “The Job!”

The Life after Full Sail panel was all about giving current students major key tips about what actually happens after they throw that graduation cap.

Juliana Neves personifies what it takes from being an accomplished student to starting a successful career in the Media Communications Industry. As one of four graduates, faculty and students from the MCBS program we wish to celebrate her during the Hall of Fame week as one most likely to be a future Hall of Fame Inductee. I had the chance to interview her in a café near Full Sail.

Jordan “DJ Swivel” Young graduated in 2005 from Full Sail University and hit the ground running. DJ Swivel’s roots mixing tunes for live audiences in the Toronto music scene trained him to hear the experience through the audience perspective and tell a story through music.

Frank Scheuring has worked as a Mixer and Sound Editor for more than 14 years. His love for music and sound design started at the age of 15. Since graduating from Full Sail University in 2001, his expertise has been far reaching in the entertainment industry. He has worked on projects like Man Made, Taboo and Ultimate Factories.

Hall of Fame is upon us and Full Sail loves spoiling its students with amazing experiences. One of those worthwhile opportunities is the VIP Student pass for the whole week of HOF.
